Another tyre question was created by zulu2
Hi I'm new to the jimny scene so please forgive the stupid questions, what tyre size could I realistically run without trashing the rest of the drivetrain on a jimny fitted with a rocklobster? I'm looking at using GV 16" steel rims.

GV 16" rims are perfect, they give a better offset aswell. I wish I hadn't sold my old steel wheels off my GV! as id use them on my jimny now if id had them still.

205/80/16 is a good size, will be about 29.75" on Insa Turbo Special Track. Works out about the same as my 215/80/15's Malatesta Kaimans, the same tread pattern, with better offset and only 5mm narrower.
Not many other options in 16 inch without going massive.
I've blown one Cv but that was during a winch challenge doing more than I normally would.

Cheers for the replys, if i'm limited with 16" tyre sizes would i be worth investing in a set of 15" modulars with a decent offset?

That depends on what size you are trying to achieve. The 215/80/15's I have are a hard size to source tyres for and Malatesta are one of few manufacturers that make them.
You can get almost all makes and treads in 205/80/16 as it's a Landrover size.
