Need help with TYRES !! was created by Fearghal Murphy
Howya again gang !

I am currently running Maxxis Radial M+S Tyres on my standard Jimny (195/80 R15) , they are going really well and i am chuffed with the in the mud and messy stuff, however i was wondering if there is a BF Goodrich All Terrain Tyre that would be suitable for my Jimny ? Or could i go for a slightly different size on my R 15 alloys ??

Any info would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks folks !

how old is your Jimny as it makes a little difference to what size tyres you can fit.
Standard is normally 205/70/15 so they will fit but older Jimnys can accomodate up to 215/75/15.

I'm pretty sure BF goodrich will make a tyre to fit but they are not cheap!
Why the change? Looks, road manners something else?

Cheers for the info goatboy !! Top man !! My Jimny is a year 2000 model so its 12 years old haha ! Strange tho as it has a 16v engine which i thought arrived in 2001 ?? The reason i am curious is because i have a lovely set of alloys on it now (love em) with the Maxxis Tyres, but i also have a standard set of steel wheels that came with it when i bought it (standard road tires on them) !

So basically i was going to put the Maxxis Tyres on the steelys and the BFs on the alloys !

Not a massive or pressing issue just curious !

Thanks man !

205/75R15 General Grabber ATs
Blackcircles £72.54

215/75R15 BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO
Blackcircles £114.78

The Grabbers are a new design and supposedly very good (better than the great AT2's), probably a better road AT than the BFGoodrich which are long established and extensively used overseas.

2000 model should be good for 215/75/15 as I have a 2000 car (also 16v) and run 215/75/15 no problems.

But looking at Halford's message 205/75/15 looks like a good bet for the money!
