Looks like the real thing. A combination of Rob Storr lower gears and a Rockwatt build should be good.

I think Rockwatt puts a mark on the box to identify it, so it might be worth asking if there is an identifier and then checking with Rockwatt (on this forum) if its the real deal.

personally, if you are considering it I would go for the box before its sold.

You will need props and a mounting kit, but with the hard bit safe in your garage you can worry about these later.

If you then change your mind then you can sell it on.

The dude selling it says he's changed to a Hilux transfer box, has anyone on here done that conversion? is it a viable option now SJ boxes are getting scarce???
John.

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

Not really suitable for the road as the high box is 1:1 so you would loose the use of 4th and 5th gear on the road !
To run a strait through t/box you would need something like 5.7:1 diffs depending on the size of tire.

And yes I did rebuild the above box for jerry.

Would this box definitely fit a jimny or is it only for an SJ, sorry if sounds like stupid question but how can you tell just by looking at the pics/description?

Yup, it will fit with a fitting kit, have you seen martins how to guide on here?
I'd link it but im on my phone. Looks like that box will need some flanges.

Sorry to say but im just waiting for him to reply as to how he wants a deposit for the box.

Cant miss it at the price as i have all flanges props etc already.

As soon as he sends details of his paypal for me to pay him a deposit i can make arrangements to collect it from him

Sorry again but as you will learn you really have to be quick to snap up these lower ratio transfer box's.

Iv been lookibg for ages but wanted lower than rocklobster but the rock crawler seemed a little too low and this box was perfect ratio for my needs
