but seriously , any thermoeter made for a car will work just fine , the thing you have to remember is windchill is alot colder than actual temp
so the sensor needs to be out of the airflow
what im saying is dont jam it into the front bumper as when your going 60 down the m1 it will read -10000 lol

It's now in the apartment in Cyprus.
They do work very well, both inside and outside temps are displayed, along with the time.
Very accurate as well.

I'm sorry to say that both of the above models (as 95% of all thermometers available in the market) are low quality Chinese stuff. Make sure to check the sensor specifications; most of them have an error rate from ±3 to ±5 degrees (even seen one with ±7 !), which is too much in my opinion.
About the positioning: some cars have them behind the bumper, behind the grill (but in front of the radiators of course), others in a side mirror casing. No matter where you put it, it will be subject to heat from the asphalt, the wind which cools the sensor, etc.

£5 Mechanical Thermometer
No wiring, no batteries and the mirror is not a bad location as it's shielded from the wind. It did tend to read quite high in the sun though - so ideal for the UK.
