Can you get quick disconnects was created by 300bhpton
Just wondering does anyone make quick disconnects for the ARBs on a Jimny?

I recently read a thread here by simoneng that said he was looking into possibly making some.
Hopefully he'll be along to update.
If not maybe SummitRacing.com

Looking for a nice clean and straight LHD Jimny..... Not any more.
Got one that seems to have been magnatized and driven through the "Big Jimny Bits" parts stores too quickly so it missed a few items.

He means Anti Roll Bar drop links not ARB diff locks. ;)

Might be an idea to cut the original and sleeve/Pin it as per picture.

Because it would cost to much and people would want to pay that much for it
even if it is just a solinoid on a gear linked to the bar.

Cost is the killer!

Made the same way as the Land Rover unlockable anti roll bar, it would cost about the same at £285 - and I doubt that many of you would be prepared to spend that kind of money.

Using a vacuum or air operated hub, typically adds about £100 to that. If you add up the cost of the standard parts used, you'll see that the margin on these is very small.

The only low cost solution is to use the pin & sleeve method, common on Jeeps. The only negative is getting muddy while you insert or remove the R clip that locks the two parts together.

In case you've not seen these, you cut one of the knuckles that join the bar on to the axle and replace the bar between the ball joints with two bits of tube sized so one will slide inside the other. Then you drill a hole through both of them so that a pin makes the link solid. Withdraw the pin (R Clip) and the two ball joints are no longer connected and the ARB is disabled.

Thinking about it, maybe the way to make one would be the same telescopic sleeve arrangement but with a spring loaded pin (to lock the two halves together) withdrawn by a choke type cable fitted in the cab to unlock. That would be easy to make yourself - and cheap.

I have the one pictured above by APIO and not bad. Keep the pin greased otherwise it is tough to get out that and attach a cable of some kind to the pin as when ya finally get it out with a tap of a hammer or rock or multitool sometimes it is hard to find. I reckon ya could make one if ya have the skill, as I am bringin mine back to see if I can't get it replicated.
