Black Jimny's don't get stuck!
When mine wasn't too bad i spoke to the tester when booking it in and he said to wipe it down well before the test. Mine did fail once on it though as it left a nice puddle on the ramp during the test, despite cleaning the hubs off before.
As a really pony solution to get it through you could drain the front diff and clean off the hubs. *
*disclaimer - i'm not suggesting its a good idea merely that if you were to it would stop the leakage and would get you through a test leaving you time to sort it later on.

Somebody posted on here how much it was at a garage i think, it was eyewateringly expensive!
If you're reasonably capable with the spanners its a surprisingly straightforward job.
