First time posting on here (or anywhere!) Have been lurking since buying our Jimny last year. Fantastic source of advice, thanks all.

Managed to pick up a set of Aero style roof bars in Lidl today for £30. Worth a look for anyone interested.

Just drove vehicle for first time since fitting the roof bars. Are they supposed to whistle like a banshee at 40mph?
Hopefully my other half won't notice with the stereo up.

Yup, I'm afraid so. Try it with a roof basket on!.....sounds like there is a full on orchestra on the roof..... and not a very good one :(

You need to seal up the slots along the bottom of the bars that allow the foot pack to adjust to different car widths. Some kits like Thule supply the bars with plastic strips that slide into the slots but failing that electric tape works just as well. They will always create some noise but it stops the wind playing them like a flute.

Just thought I would post a pic and say thanks to Glencruich! Went out yesterday and bought the roof bars from Lidl, very impressed with the quality for the price, and they are perfect as they fit on both my Jimny and my Omega!
