How about a champion 8000 winch? Got mine on eBay for £230 and it was delivered the next day. It fits perfectly between the chassis rails, I just lengthened the rails and welded a winch plate in.

Hi Mark
Was that brand new ?, Do you have any picture's with the front bumper off to see where to weld it in ?. Also where did you get the winch plate from.

The seller is autoliftukltd..... I paid £260 max for the winch and the correct winch plate and that included next day delivery. As for the installation it was pretty much identical to the pictures on here under the how to fit a winch post. Basically I cut the crush cans off the front of the chassis, inserted box section of a slightly smaller diameter then welded the winch tray in between. The tray needed trimming down a bit to fit in snugly. After that I just trimmed the bumper down so I just fitted over the winch, all I lost was the mesh over the big hole in the bumper and the lower part of the painted bit where the number plate was screwed into. Then I trimmed the lower bumper section and popped that back too, job done. Although I dabble with a welder I got a mate to do mine as his welder was a big workshop one and much better / capable of producing quality welding.

And my winch came with a cool remote control kit so I can even winch remotely from outside the vehicle if the need ever arose and also means no having to plug the wired controller into the solenoid box every time I want to winch. Thought about installing the wired controller In permanently and fitting the switch on the dash to make life easy.
