Bigjimny Tong 2012 ? was created by Gromit
So seeing as the Colin Appleyard event isn't what we thought it was going to be, is there any chance of a Bigjimny Tong event again in 2012 ?? Pretty please !!!!

Pretty Please Martin!!!!!! Only day I have in my diary is TOR live.
Picking my Jimny up from West Coast 4x4 ctr on Saturday, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Then testing it out (breaking it) hopefully on Sunday as I will already have a hire trailer again :-(.

Anyone playing out Sunday in the N/West? I'm thinking maybe Silverdale or Hill n ditch.

I guess its time to look at sites for the next event.

Tong was a good venue but at £35 per car and £500 up front is an expensive site and a bit of a financial risk (if we had had the same number of drop outs at the last Tong that we had at Wagtail then it would have financial disaster).

Wagtail was good as there was no upfront risk, everyone simply paid on the day.

We also need a club/site that will operate the day as a "pay and play" day on their insurance as I do not have personal 3rd party event insurance. Any ideas for sites?

Martin, would it be an idea to get a list of us together first, (if enough 14.2 jimnys minimum) then get a deposit from us all so that it is of no financial risk to yourself?

Location of the site obviously will affect turnout and central to most will suit.

Sounds good, bit of a trek for me from Warton, Preston, however must be worth the extra hours drive, i'd be up for that if they will allow me in with no insurance just a fresh MOT, as she has decided to keep just my G'Vitara and her Ibiza on the road for the winter. Looking at swapping my insurance over after the winter, as she wont need my 4x4 to be smug going in to work

Yes, this is what happened for Tong last time around, I got everyone to commit via paypal in advance. I am just aware that in the current economic situation it has to be as cheap as possible.

What about a poll of several suitable sites? Just to see what sites would be of the most interest.

How about Holymoorside at Chesterfield, just had a camping/laning/playing weekend there with Northern Monkeys Offroad and it was £25 for camping and the offroad site for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also I can do a laning trip on the Saturday for those that want it, only downside is that there are no facilities (toilets etc).

I wouldnt mind paying in advance. I would make sure i could get to this one. It was only because of an un-forseen car bill that put me out of the last one :( . Either way you can defo count me in. I think if people have paid up front you may get a better turn out. As has been said a vote would be good.
