Hey people, heres a quick post of what i got up to the weekend, took my jimny to its first pay and play day since ive modified it, wanted everything just right before i "take it to break it", the day was with the HBRO club at Slab Common Bordan, its normally a Landrover Club but me and a fellow Suzuki sj showed them how its done
Just after 11minutes of been at the site our friend in the 90 decided to take a sand speedbump thingy a bit hard and snapped off the trailing arm mount clean off the axle !!! so out came the "bodge it box" so we managed to jack the 90 up supporting with ropes off the Jimny and Jeep then take out the rear spring and squeeze a bottle jack between the chassic and the axle, whilst using 3 ratchet straps to keep all in place, drove it a mile up the road to a local garage to get it welded back on for the drive home (bloody Land Rovers)
I promised myself not to go for the biggest mudhole i could find, ive killed many a Sj here before doing just that, so was going to take it easy testing the ORA lift kit that we recently fitted
At this point i wish id invested in a rear locker, i properly could have made it up with a run up, but didnt fancy breaking a front shaft,
You know i said i wasnt going to play in any mud holes........... the thing is i cant help it....at least it didnt have water in this time
More pics to come once ive loaded them off my phone.... stay tuned
