Just had an awesome but very muddy day at Picadilly woods in Bolney Sussex. My engine is covered in mud and I am wondering what is the best way to clean it? Can I just power wash it or will this cause issesues with water in the electrice etc??
Thanks

For the under chassis I put one of those "Wavemaker" type garden sprinklers under the car for 20 minutes and move it a couple of times to get the mud out.
Haven't had an electricl problem yet in 11 years.

Maybe a bit uneccessary but i get a bit paranoid about fritzing the electrics with the hose.

I also spray the engine bay before with some wash liquid for engines I got in halfords. does a nice job removing some black stuff

... ok, i "DO" occasionally .... I just use the hose or jetwasher .. leave the engine running and blast away. I always apply WD40 on all the electrics, plugs, lights connectors etc before I go put anyway, and again when its all been washed down.
The chassis, I take to the local Car wash in the evening when the attendants are not there, and use their 3000 psi washer on the chassis and to cut the really caked mud off.
I used to take it to Tesco's but im banned now as they blame me and my mates for blocking their washer up every sunday !!!

Naughty, Naughty!
Just what i do now, my lance is bust on my karcher so i wash the outside and run to the jet wash and do underneath
I got my karcher off my sister - i would never buy one myself. I buy the cheapest possible as its alway the accessories that are expensive.
