Platypus was created by ZookFastback
This is the Suzuki Platypus, a made in Oz amphibious version of the Jimny! There are approximately 600 of these road and water operating 4wd's, made from a donor Jimny and the manufacturers fibreglass body

They are jet-powered or twin-screwed if more time is spent on the water.
There are heaps on the Islands and Resorts and I am currently thinking of buying a second-hand one, although I own an Argo like this 8-wheeler.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Wow, I've always wanted an amphibian. Nowhere to sail it mind....
How do they stop the swivel hubs filling up with salty water and then the swivel bearings and CVs failing? If there is an easy modification it would sort out the biggest problem with a standard jimny.

Here is the reply from Platypus, the email arrived a few minutes ago.
Hello Ian,
Thank you for your inquiry.
The Platypus is a completely different vehicle, the Platypus was designed and built by Boyd Wyatt on Karragarra Island in Morton bay, Queensland. Unlike the Dutton we use a full chassis which makes the Platypus much stronger, Dutton bolt all the running gear to the fibreglass hull, this has given him trouble in the past with one of his vehicles being called a floating coffin by a court judge, we bolt all the running gear back to it's original position on the chassis which is in-cased in fibreglass inside the hull.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email me,
Regards,
