If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there
Wheel bearing?? was created by facade
I had a bit of trouble with a rear oil seal recently that washed all the grease out of the bearing, so I prised up the metal shield, and squirted grease under it.
Anyway, on Sunday coming back from Piratemania (don't ask  ) Click, click, click from the back drivers side.
Stopped, checked the wheel, can't see anything, carried on, click click click, definitely louder turning left.
Got home and jacked up the back, cant feel anything, except my goodness, the diff is rough when the wheels are turning opposite to each other, maybe a tooth off one of the spider gears. Ran it in gear with the wheels up, not a trace of noise. Play outwards in both wheels though...
Almost ordered a new bearing anyway.
Then I spotted the half nail sticking out of the front tyre  all ground and polished where it was rubbing on the road.
Pulled it out and the noise has gone.
Waiting to see if the tyre goes down now.......

I hope you dont mind me Hi-Jacking this thread ...
But last week i replaced my rear Wheel Bearing (Bearing kit supplied by Martin, I got my own ABS Ring and Sensor from Suzuki - dont ask)
Anyway, getting the half-shaft out is easy, had my old bearing and new bearing done a local-friendly garage - cheap as chips ...
BUT, "how the heck" does the Bearing Seal (looks like rubber and metal) come out of the Axle housing ??
I did "tentatively" attempt to pry it out ... but gave up when it didn't budge at all ????
