you won't find a carbon fibre bonnet guard... but they are available in smoked... which is pretty much black

Although... I had the last one in stock and I'm unsure whether they were going to get any more in from Aus

Looks good on my silver Jimny

I'd love one of those too, especially as it will hide the big ding on my bonnet!

well thats a good start, im a pattern maker n make carbon moulds for aerospace etc,n have fancied makeing a few carbon bits at home for a while there does not seem much carbon in the 4x4 market, the bonnet guard would b quite easy to make too ,keep the ideas coming, guna have a look at how the guards attach.

Is carbon not brittle? I know it works in safety cells but i thought it was too brittle for certain applications? No doubt i'm wrong though

If the carbon parts are anything like the 'bike stuff, they are quite a close fit and use a decent high temperature double sided tape, they don't move.

I've never been able to replace the tape, nearest I can find are those little pads that motor factors sell to hold the interior mirrors on. Ordinary double sided comes off in sunshine.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

yeah carbon can be brittle if iits thin n hurts like hell if u get a splinter, but for protection like bonnet gards its easy strong enuf, been looking at diff guards there are some for rally cars, and even found one for landrovers on google images but on ps3 at min and it dunt let you put pics up on hear.would like to see how strong the landrover one is. the high temp doublesided tape would be easier than clips too.

The bonnet guard i have screws to the front edge, using 2 inserts that drop into the square holes.
Lift your bonnet and there will be 2 square holes staring you in the face
It then clips either side with some snap type clip things...

I'm not sure how long it'll look as 'pimp' as it did in the previous pic
Can see it cracking and scratching very easily! Might last a couple of years. At £60 a pop its not really something i want to replace... My Jimny definately stands out though!

I'd definatly have a carbon one... but the prices would be interesting!

Will try to sort a few more photos tonight, but working till 5 and the weather is a little interesting lately
