I have two questions that I would be grateful for any answers....
The first one is really basic .... but before I get into 4wd mode I need to understand .....
1 Do I need to be in first gear for 4H and 4L????
2 Do I need to engage the clutch before moving from 2H to 4H or 4L?????
3 Can I use all gears in 4H or 4L?????
I know this seems really basic but the manual is a little vague and I don't want to knacker the 4WD.... and this is my first 4wd experience so am a real novice......
Also - In terms of security - I have noticed that I can access into the back via the zip which is obviously a bit of a security issue - Is there a way of "locking" this from opportunists??
Lastly - The back storage area - Is there a lid available for this so that again, opportunists cannot see the contents????
Many thanks for any comments on this???
Thanks

You should not engage 4 wheel drive on normal roads in dry or grippy conditions as there is no centre differential and you will end up either winding up the transmission or (at best) scrubbing the tyres. The four wheel drive should only be used when there is limited grip, ie off road or in snow/ice.
I'm sure someone with a soft top will be along soon to help with the security aspects you raised.

4WD useage ... as per the sticker on the drivers sun visor and what has been said above.
Regarding security .. Unfortunatly no, donot carry anything valuable with you in the car and expect it to be there when you return!! ..
you can buy a lockable ammo box and bolt it though the boot floor but that is a little extreme.
The boggest problem with teh soft top is it can be undone easily .. either by using the clips, or using a stanley knife (cutting the top).
This is the only real downsite to the soft tops ...
On a plus side, if you do break in the rear, I donot believe the central locking works to unlock the drivers door, so perhapse the safest place to put things is in the drivers / passengers footwell... That will make any wanna be thief have to crawl into the back to get to the drivers door to unlock it
