Not sure about the UK, but here in Australia you can go to any tent repairer and they will sew a new zipper on for about $50. Also, folks who make covers for boats will do the same for you.
Or you can toss out what you have and go for something like mine for less than $500. These are wind-proof, water-proof and totally airtight. 30 seconds to fit, 15 seconds to remove. As a matter of fact, if you let fresh air in via the vents, the rear will inflate slightly and become as hard as a rock.
