What is the top speed supposed to be of an 05 plate jimny? I have just followed one along the A43 from Brackley to the M1. I topped 100 mph flat out and could not catch it. It was a scruffy one with a female driving and I just let her go.My 100 mph was keeping up but I could not get any closer. My wife has one and I now expect her to get home from work in 20 mins. not the 45 she takes.

Suzuki's claimed top speed is 87mph. I don't think I would like to try that in mine, and I suspect if one was doing a true 100mph it must have had an engine transplant.

I swear to god that it was doing 100. It looked standard but I could not catch her to talk to let alone look under the bonnet! The out side did not have any goodies fitted, it looked bog standard.

I've had an indicated 95ish out of mine it was wavering around there. I can just get about 80 on a looooong road but it doesn't sound or feel healthy!

I rarely go over 60-65 and its not until you sit with the wagons on motorways at those speeds you realise just how fast the rest are going.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

I must add that it was on a dual carriage way but it looked pretty stable. I wanted to get close to see what happened at the roundabout but couldn't catch her. The old bill would have had a field day as she had a youngster sitting beside her.

Been able to sustain 100mph in a few of our Jimny's .. ( on our private stretch of road ;) ).

These days, were lucky to beable to hit 50 mph unless going downhill !!

Well..... yes I know I broke the law but this is my story from yesterday......
I went to overtake an old man ( like 90 ) driving a passat for 25 miles at 40mph. The only straight that was clear so I went for it.... dropped to 3rd and pulled out.
The bloke behind me also pulled out behind me ready also.
The old git in the passat spead up to around 70mph.... so I struggled to get past, there was the other bloke up my arse and a car comming because of the time it was taking to geet past due to him accelerating,
I held her going ( red lined infact......at 123k on the clock :/ )
hit 85mph and thought she was going to explode...... never again unless I see no other way out :( ( remember I only have 2 seats, no carpet, no spare, no plastics etc at the moment in her lol
I should have reported the old git but I was worried I might also get busted..... not sure on the law in situations like this.....but I'm guessing even tho I did the only thing I could safely I'd still be in the wrong as well
its the second time something like this has happened to me :(
Next time I will just ram the old bugger off the road lol :D
