Wish i'd seen this 6months ago. Ours was quite poorly and eventually died a slow whirring death!
I was a bit sad about keeping it clean but eventually i think the twice a week of hoovering the fireplace out took its toll. I bought a cheaper bagless upright that lacks the innovation of the dyson (cable routing, tools etc..) but does the important jobs properly. I've always been disappointed with the Dyson in honesty so i was never going to fork out £180+ to replace it.
However had i seen this before it died i could have saved £70 and got a little longer service out of it.

Ive Killed 2 of these, one DC08, one DC03.
When I was building, I used it to clean out the polystyrine balls out of the cavity ... the second time it was cleaning the garage floor base prior to sealing it. dismantled them so many times and bought many broken ones from our refuse tip to canabalise, in the end they just werent as good as the little Henry

I lost my henry when in a split with a girl - he chose to live else where, but he was useless!!!!! So i invested in a cheapy workshop vac from Argoose! Best 50quid ive ever spent
Moved back in with the folks last year and the workshop vac came with me. Needless to say, mum wasn't impressed when i decided to demonstrate it can hoover nails and rubble up out of the back on my truck and used it to hoover all the muck out of my chainsaws, she thought i would kill it. Then she tried it one day to hoover the dog hair up ............................... i think ive lost that one too - its been adopted
