I am planning on converting a 2002 Suzuki Jimny to diesel, with a Peugeot 1.9 XUD9 engine.
I’ve already started collecting some bits, I’ve got an engine from a Vitara which actually used the XUD9 engine from the factory.
I’ll be swapping the Lucas fuel pump for a Bosch one, as they run well on waste oil.
The engine is going to be mated to an LDV pilot gearbox which I have coming. These were rear wheel drive and used the non turbo version of the Peugeot engine so they bolt straight on.
I’ll need to see work out clutch slave/ fork, as the Jimny uses cable and the LDV used hydraulic. Will probably fit a hydraulic master cylinder to the Jimny.
Also not sure on clutch choice yet.
Has anyone ever done this conversion or any experience with the XUD9 engines.
