JB43 Shock Question

I'm looking to upgrade my shocks on my 2" lifted jimny. It came with RPG shocks from Japan and I find them way too soft with the anti roll bar off. Great for really slow speed crawling but anything past that there's not enough dampening as the body rocks back and forth. My goal is to make it better at gravel roads with washboard corrugations as that's mainly what it's used for. No rock crawling unless the road has deteriorated. I'm based in Canada so I'll be importing.

I've seen shock repositioners from Jimnybits which add 35mm to the compressed length. With a 50mm lift would that mean I could use a shock that's appropriate for a 0mm to 30mm lifted Jimny? Would this make the Koni shocks possible (suitable for 0mm to 30mm jimny)?Other options would be a Bilstein if this theory makes sense. I'd get front and rear repositioners from Showa garage ( compassauto.jp/collections/suspension/pr...ender-brackets-jimny ) as they say their compatible with front and back.

Other options are:
-KYB Scorched4's
-KYB AS8 ( compassauto.jp/collections/suspension/pr...absorbers-jb43-jimny )
-Jimnybits black raptors?

Does anyone know if I'm giving up performance by going with an adjustable dial shock like the AS8 or the adjustable black raptors. In reality once I find a happy medium setting I doubt I'll be changing it and if a Monotube Bilstein or a KONI heavy track shock offers more performance I'd strongly consider that.

Hoping for some feedback as it's difficult to find impressions of suspension setups. My jimny has a 8kg roof rack with the spare wheel on top. No armour but a jerry can on the back which might have 10L of fuel. Other than that, it's what can fit inside which is some packs, two adults and a 8 year old.

I have the koni dampers and they are great. I set mine soft and other than the odd weekend chasing mates for lap times that's all they need. Compared with the stock dampers on my 2024 which are way too soft the koni might aswell be set to race car the way they allow stable changing of direction. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

I always appreciate your experience. I'll have to share a photo with you of the rack I made using the stainless legs you sell.

Thanks for the correction Lambert. Regardless, I still like your replies. My problem is finding a Koni for the front that will fit 470 extended and a 290 compressed because of the lift.

You are on a good track considering the lenght extended and compressed and not just buying a 2" shock.

The 2" shock lenghts for my trailmaster kit are longer than that of the black raptor 2" for some reason, and OME 2" too are shorter.

As Trailmaster have become unobtainable here in Norway I found KYBs in the correct lenght to replace my trailmaster rear shocks. Works OK for me. I would like something more beefy to cope with the added weight on my car though.
