Yeah It's coming to be wintry here and casting is a nice warm job so it's next in the pipeline to get the castings done and machined, then I need an engine frame and move toward the ECU side to remove the immobiliser and get the engine running in a test frame....got to get some spare pennies to buy a rad as the Pug one is wider than the headlightsDave cc wrote: Any update on engine swap

I knew about the rot on the rear floor and ignored it for the past 3 years as I don't carry rear seat passengers....So I drew up a new floor and had it made on a CNC punch.....Unfortunately I had to order 2 as a minimum order.
The second one will be on ebay soon.
Anyhoo I hit the chassis with a hammer and chisel, angle grinder and a die grinder to loosen some of the crud off and applied my favourite underseal
Then I tried the floor plate......If only I'd moved the outer line 100mm back.....anyway I can stand the failure.
Then I welded it in and got called a few names by various visitors....Anal my arse I just like things done in certain ways!
Painted the underside prior to welding....left 50mm all around so no fires today!!
All welded and seam sealed ready to cure a little overnight then get some paint on the upper and underseal on the underside.....call me anal will they.....I matched the finish on the seam sealer on the inner arches as it's the thing to do.....nothing gay about it.
On to some casting work next as those tyres have hit the mpg's more power a some diseasel torque needed.

I'm about ready to get back on with the castings for the gearbox and bell-housing soon.
Busy with other peoples projects this month but the weather is nice for casting work at the moment
