Hi All, I introduced this over on the MyJimny thread, but as it's a project build I better continue this here.

So the plans for Stan2 the Jimny:

Virtual Lift (cutting arches and removing front wings)
Extended Brake Lines (ordered)
Vitara Wheels (have already)

Stan 2 - Strapped down and ready to head home

Stan2 looks a bit lower than the Land Rover

OK so first thing this week was to clear out the interior:

Next was the exterior:

A lot of fasteners used for the body kit:

Not much else will get done this week due to work but soon as I'm back the 3" lift kit, extended brake lines, adjustable panhard rods and tyres will be fitted along with some sort of a front bumper.

Speaking of bumpers, anyone know how the KAP winch bumper is mounted? Anyone have this bumper?

169 views and not one reply to my question on the KAP bumper :(

Not to worry, I went and ordered the ORA one. So time for an update:

3" Lift fitted

Extended Brake Lines fitted

Rear arches trimmed

Front arches removed

Vitara rims fitted
Malatesta Kobras fitted

Battery tray fitted

Relocated front indicators (yep I got bored)

Next on the to-do-list is fit ORA bumper, tidy up exhaust (removed back box), install adjustable Panhard Rods.
Anyone know of a good method to use to know how much to adjust them by?

Why remove the front wings?
Is it only for offroading?

Thanks for the replies lads. Yep it will be 100% offroad, we'll be towing it to our forest and to events around Ireland.
I'll be adding an external cage like my old truck Stan1. If you check the front of this cage in this photo here, the way we designed it, we had a lot of tree impacts on the front wings, so for me, it's better to remove the wings altogether and then keep the cage as tight as possible.

Anyone know of the correct way to adjust the Panhard Rods?

So the winch bumper arrived and after looking at it for a while I figured out how to fit the thing.

It took a little while to align it properly on my own so I'd suggest you get an extra pair of hands if you can.

Now I'll either have to put back on the wings or else cut the bumper......I think I'll cut the bumper to make it nice and tidy, then again I might try the wings back on first before I make up my mind.

The mounting plate has 3 large 12.5mm bolts on the side and 2 10mm bolts on the front of the chassis legs, then the bumper is mounted with a further 3 12.5mm bolts on each side.

The nice thing is that by removing the two upper bolts the bumper can swing down to gain access to install the winch, or to do maintenance on the winch.

Ya I'll try them back on over the weekend, otherwise I'll be getting the grinder out to cut the ends off the bumper, which would be shame as it's so new

That'd be pretty silly to do. Then you might as well have bought a cheap winch tray instead.

What's wrong with have the wings fitted? They're very easy to trim.

I would also trim the wings, who knows you may want to sell on the bumper at a later date ......
