Made a few changes, removed the big chairs and replaced them with smaller ones as visibility out the rear windows was non existent.
bought more food then planned fir two but still came in under weight if not by much.
The final load kist is as follows.

Spare full and carrier 14kg
Load rails, boards and awning 28kg
Total= 42kg

Grand total =173kg
People x2 = 150kg

Total= 323kg

Load capacity 2024 jimny auto 345kg.
GMV 1545kg, curb weight 1200kg
All weights were rounded up so it's actually a few kg lighter, but we're all set to head off on Saturday.

I remember going backpacking in Norway years ago, weighed everything out, selected lighter clothing, took just enough toothpaste and shampoo for 2 weeks and still end up at nearly 40lbs without much food, mind we were camping and took ice axe and crampons. Guess you won’t be encountering much snow and ice?

Yes, I'm guessing the last time the central Australian desert saw ice was when the dinosaurs got wiped out.

Just remembered something about snow on Uluru so googled it and found this article from 97

Apparently it was wihite over from hailstones in 2015, although you can probably leave the ice climbing gear at home, I don’t think you are allowed up now?

Good planning, I'm impressed at how carefully you got it all packed up.

One accessory to consider for the Jimny is the KAP Industries fire extinguisher bracket.  I have one and like knowing that I have a good size fire extinguisher safely clamped down but still within arm's reach.  Made in Oz.  

Fire extinguisher is like an umbrella on a cloudy day: won't need it if you have it to hand, but leave home without it...

Your trip sounds really enjoyable, you and the lady will have a great time.  We expect some pictures when you get back.  Keep the shiny side up!

Well we just got back this arvo, the drive up there was brilliant, I got the fuel up to 460km a tank, it cruised just brilliant.
On the way home I discovered a major flaw with the adaptive cruise control, in wet conditions the spray blinds the cameras and it has a little melt down and shuts off, that got really annoying as I had to stop using it.
But for camping it was just flawless, comfortable to drive in for very long periods, up to 15 hours a day no problems, no stress.
The dual battery was only 60ah but rear the fridge without any dramas so I'm happy with that.
But I'm definitely setting up a trailer for future trips, mostly so we can take the dogs along with us, but the wife had such a great time she can't wait to do more.
