My wife wanted a break from work and wanted to see a bit of Australia so I planned a trip to uluru (Ayres Rock to the non PC)
it's going to be a 3000 mile round trip, so it's going to be a big test for the new Jimny.
I just finished playing Jimny Tetris and got it loaded up, it's surprising what you can fit in the 5 door.
planning on leaving on Saturday, 3 days there and probably 4 on the way back so we can spend a day in Cobber Peady doing the tourist thing.
I got word today that my mount fir the dual battery system should arrive before the weekend so here's hoping, it would be good to have that property mounted by then.

But I'm definitely getting a little trailer made up for it after this.

Replied by Busta on topic Outback adventure 3000 miles.
Remember the payload is only 345kg, and the roof load limit is 30kg. Looks like you're pushing both limits there! Otherwise have a great trip.

I actually too the chairs and tent off of the roof, I took it for a drive down the highway at 110kph and it was very windy, it was knocking it around a bit, after removing them it smoothed out a lot.
My wife and I come to 145kg so that leaves us 200kg of load weight and the load in the cabin is only sitting around 140kg at a guess so we will have 60kg for food which we won't use half off.
So we are close but still under, so it will be a great test of it.
But a trailer is definitely in its future, but I'm breaking out the luggage scales to be safe and will do a list up.

Quick weigh up

Bedding 7.8kg
Cooking gear (big box) 16.9kg
Water 11.3kg
Camping mat 6.8
Toilet 2kg
Tent 1 2.2kg
Food Box (empty) 6.5kg
Tent large 10.5kg
Chairs 5.6kg x2
Battery box 9.8kg
Car fridge 15kg
Clothes 17.4kg

So 110kg in the car ATM, 145kg for us, 25kg for the roof, 15kg for spare fuel.

So around 295kg as it sits, so still 50kg for food.

Wow that's going to be an awesome adventure, l am so jealous!!
The five door Jimny is ideal as it has the extra room over the three door.

l wish the five door was available in the U.K., l would buy one this weekend.

Our 2020 Jimny is the most reliable vehicle we've ever owned, l wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere. So no worries there, with yours.

Don't forget to post pictures
