I see lots of Gen4s with those £800 roof racks that only leave a 5kg load allowance and ladders on the back door. The epitomy of style over substance.

Looking forward to the Grenadier going on sale, l just hope it's not too expensive.
Sadly the price has crept up and its now looking like it will be £40,000+
Which will be out of my reach.

It's going to be interesting to see what the depreciation is like on the new defender especially when they start to come out of warranty.

My guess is very little depreciation initially due to demand
But eventually it will go the way of all other LR products and values will fall.
Few cars escape the depreciation curve, the new Jimny is currently on a high, the VW Up GTi is doing well, and the Jeep Wrangler holds its value.

Not so sure values are directly warranty related, it'll be more about supply and demand I feel. So I'd also expect them to be pretty good for the next 3-4 years. But then be very comparable to D4/D5 type values. I can't seem them being lusted after like the traditional Defender is, nor how people view the Wrangler or Jimny. It just isn't that kind of vehicle.Lambert wrote: It's going to be interesting to see what the depreciation is like on the new defender especially when they start to come out of warranty.

True enough, once they come out of the three year PCP agreements they will join the ranks of used vehicles on Auto Trader.
Since around 90% of new vehicles are now purchased using this method, it's likely fewer people will want a three year old one, as you can't have a PCP agreement on those.
l still think values will remain fairly strong, certainly better than Discovery Sport where you can get five year old one from around £10,000
