Not exactly where you would want a cv to fail I'm quite sure. Though I would also have reservations about using that much momentum on that rock as well.

It was the crown wheel.and pinion that broke. That was his third attempt. He is an exceptional driver, he did very well to keep it on its wheels. That slope is 43 degrees with a nasty cross axle.

I've had a pinion gear lose teeth. A crown wheel could suffer the same.
