Nice sunny day on Sunday so decided to take the long way to visit the family. Makes a change from welding patches onto Ulysses!
Detour to start around Haltwhistle area and end up at Garrigill. Gopro and gimbal out and on the job...
1st lane was Plenmeller. A former open cast coal mine, so the track is fairly new and allows a bit of speed
and it goes on (see Riccy G on youtube for the rest of them).
Next was a old favourite down into Whitfield valley:
Then over to Issac's tea trail to get from the Allen valley over to Alston:
Nice long rocky washout to start:
then over the top complete with a slow Hilux and some smiley walkers having their lunch:
Theres a couple more of stuff between gates but then onto the drop into a mine (anthracite i think):
Next was a bit of road to Blaygill and a couple of tracks there:
and down to the farm with a couple of nice small rock steps:
then over the river its splashy back up to the main road:
And thats as far as i got on the planned route. There was one more lane down into Garrigill ford, but ive done this plenty enough before so skipped it in favour of seeing the relatives!
