I have a friend that swears by them but has now been drawn away by a very potent Audi.
Everyone I knew from the SAAB fraternity that had owned BMWs in the past thought that the SAAB was a far superior machine, though the press always saw it as inferior to the BMW.

I've never been with him driving anywhere but he is a bit of a nut-job by all accounts and frequently seen on opposite lock.
More money than sense really, but each to their own!
Then there's me with my little MG Midget bimbling along at 50 or the Jimny bimbling along at about the same rate. Goodness knows what the others at work must think of me with my old and unfeasibly small cars

Stupidly expensive to buy, but once bought has to be the cheapest car to own ?

Yeah I get that quite a bit. People who don't know me assume that because I have a Jimny, all I can manage is pottering about at 40 or 50 mph. They can't grasp that it's a deliberate attempt to mitigate the risk to my driving licence, not a reflection of my driving ability, I know that I drive everywhere like it's a tarmac special and doing so in a Jimny makes legal speeds seem fast, if I drove a proper car like say an RS or Type R or a WRX or whatever, I would be in prison and that doesn't sound like a good idea.
