New Byway kit. was created by 1066Boy
You know how every time you go on a camping trip or a day out on the byways you start to think, what bit of kit have you left at home or could do with owning? During a recent trip out I broke my folding saw. Its the second one I have broken so I started thinking about a more suitable replacement. Came up with this. Cheap and strong, also more fun to use.
Yet to be tested in battle but performed well in the back garden.

Is that even legal to own never mind use in a public place?

Yes if its a piece of kit for a job. Its not like I am going to be using it in the town centre. Kept in my equipment box in the boot just for byway/camping trips not in the jimny permantly. I am up to date on my knife law as I collect them.

Fair enough. Have you considered a silky katanaboy as a totally reasonable green lane clearing tool?

Yes the Katanaboy is a very good bit of kit but too expensive for the odd time I would use it.
My machete was only £15 so no big problem if it gets damaged or lost.

When I bought my machete ( 4 years ago on-line) I had to proof my identity using my passport. Then I was told by my company not to use it for de-veg (I work as land surveyor on fields) because it classes as weapon whitch is illegal to own in the UK without licence and police will arrest me if this tool found in my car during a randon check.
Are you 100% sure it would be sufficient to say " It's just part of my tools " in order to avoid trouble with police ?
