One Car Too Far on Discovery, is anyone else watching it?
It’s a great program with some interesting driving in some really extreme areas however I can’t help but think the whole thing is staged, from the mechanical failures to every time they get stuck. Now I am not stupid I know these things make “good†telly however when they have a scene where they supposedly push through a bush and fall in to a bog to their surprise the other side, it’s a little hard to think it’s not setup when the whole thing is filmed from the other side of the bush so you see them bust through and fall in the bog! :silly:
One of the issues they had this week was a spark plug lead shorting on the block due to the rubber coating degrading, instead of using the electrical tape they had to simply insulate the wire they decided to use it to join each end of a wet stick to the wire after cutting out the affected area and using the stick to conduct the current. :silly:
Now it is great that there is a program on TV showing some great off road driving however I would prefer not to have the huge film crew follow them, helicopter shots etc and go for something a bit more like The Long Way Down with Charley Borman and Ewan McGregor

Yeah i have been watching the show and felt the same way. I enjoy it though. The last ep is an inteview type show where they both chat about what they did. They said in this ep that some bits were staged to educate people how to deal with the problem in a survival type of way. Hope they make more.

Ah I hadnt notice the bit at the begining for the show saying things were a little staged, its good all the same and I wont stop watching it, better than watching X factor and all the crap my wife likes to watch.
