1. 1970 Austin Mini 1380cc MED racing engine (blew it up, now 1275cc and still have the car 10years on!)
2. 1991 Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 Cloverleaf Permanent 4 (beautiful car, just could not afford insurance at 17!)
3. 1989 Peugeot 205 1.9diesel in brown bought for £50
4. 1990 Fiat Panda 750cc bought for £30!
5. 1988 MG Metro Turbo
6. 1990 Citroen AX 1.4diesel bought for £100
7. 1991 Citroen AX 1.5diesel
8. 1989 Citroen BX 1.7DTR Estate (supersmooth and very frugle, just looked awful!)
9. 1998 Citroen Saxo 1.5diesel
10.1997 VW Polo 1.9diesel
11. 1991 Toyota Supra 3.0l Turbo (unbelievably quick with variable turbo boost, still got it now!)
12. 1998 Peugeot 406 2.1TDi (very smooth, even with 150k on the clock)
13. 2005 Hondga Monkey Bike 70cc
14. 1993 Mercedes 250D
15. 1995 Rover 115diesel
16. 1998 Daewoo Lanos 1.4
17. 1971 Land Rover Series III 109 3.5 v8 (now LPG'd and running a dream!)
18. 2008 Ford Focus 1.6 (AA learner driving school car)
19. 1998 Kawasaki GT550 (98k miles on the clock and still going strong!)
20. 2001 Renault Clio 1.2
21. 1999 Suzuki Jimny (yey!)
22. 1998 Saab 95 2.3LPT on LPG (amazing car with 217k miles still beat most things off the line!)
23. 2001 Vauxhall Omega 2.2 on LPG (free car so why not!)
24. 2007 Audi A6 Avant 3.0TDi v6 Le Mans S Line Quattro (for sale still )
25. 2002 Mercedes C200K Coupe (for sale if interested!)
oh and VW Transporter 2.8TDi 4Motion but that is works so doesn't really count!
I have probably missed a few, and I have bought and sold many many many more in between! For information, to date, I have never lost any money on a car...serious, I have always sold a car for more than I have bought it, including servicing work or repairs and depreciation! Probably explains the very random and ever changing selection of cheap cars!
Wonder how many more I will have had in the next 10 years!

Heres my story so far:
1. 1987 Suzuki SJ410 - Still own it and it's been heavily modified!
2. 1993 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2
3. 1996 Samurai Sport - Injection! (Had a few mods like Suspension lift, janspeed manifold etc.)
4. 1996 Mitsubishi FTO GPX - frickin loved this car but it was thirsty and made me skint!
5. 1994 Vauxhall Corsa 1.5TD - std apart from fuel pump and boost cranked up! :woohoo: Was a shed but reliable and soo cheap to run!
6. 2004 Lotus Elise 111R - This is my daily driver and a serious grin machine! :woohoo:
7. 2007 Honda Civic Type S GT - On permanent loan to the missus and used for long journeys!
8. 2001 Suzuki Jimny JLX - Bought last year coz the Elise is not good in snow! Use it to take mountain bikes at the weekend.
If I ever get rid of the Lotus I think i'll get a Subaru Forester STI

2 - Peugeot 309 1.3 glx - in black with red trim. I loved this car and I don't know why. Kept breaking down which I never got to the bottom of
3 - Peugeot 306 1.4 XR - I bought this off my Mum for a bargain price, but it was knackered in the main. First car I really started getting my hands dirty with. Sold it with 125k miles on the clock. Engine was still going strong...
4 - Citroen Saxo VTR - My first and only brand new car. I loved it! kept it very very clean and 100% standard. It was areal hoot to drive and I thought it was fast. It wasn't.
5 - Peugeot 205 1.9 diesel - had this at the same time as the Saxo and used it for commuting from London to Cumbria. It was rubbish but very economical!
6 - Vauxhall Astra coupe 2.2 - I was sucked in by the looks, but soon realised it was rubbish to drive and very dull. Only lasted 6 months and I lost £2k on it
7 - Mitsubishi Colt czt - 1.5 turbo, 150bhp in a very light car. Wasn't the best handling thing in the world but it was a lot of fun, lots of wheelspin and lots of suprising faster cars
8 - VX220 - oh I loved this car, I still miss it (suprised to see another ex owner on here, are you the same Elaine who did some carbon bits and bobs? I had one of your gearstick covers...). Did a few track days which were fun but expensive I would get up early on a Sunday morning and go out driving for no reason for hours on end. Could never find good enough roads to use it properly, Never really had enough grunt once up to speed to do decent overtaking and that started to annoy me. I was very sad to sell it.
9 - 350z - the lack of grunt of the Vx220 got me hunting for some muscle. Found it in the 350z which had torque by the handful. Very quick once rolling. But always felt very big (although handled well), always very thisty and suprisingly impratical. only had it for 6 months before decided to move house and needed something for B&Q and tip trips.
10- Skoda Octavia VRS estate - 1.8T and remapped to about 200bhp. Go to the shops, buy a fridge, stick it in the boot and drive home with much speed. Mix of praticality and speed has never been so good. Handled suprisingly well for a big car too. But I started doing a 15K a year commute and it was too thirsty and a bit too dull. This was definately the most rounded car I have owned to date. Just did everything well.
10.5 - Jimny - Simply awesome - second car and still with me... thought it would matter that its so slow. it doesn't at all!
11 - VW Scirocco GT - 2.0TDi 170 bhp with DSG. Looks great, plenty quick, comfy and economical. DSG is a real treat, Makes the commute so much nicer.
Cars that made me smile Saxo, VX220, Colt and Octavia VRS (Jimny goes without saying)
Cars that didn't make me smile Nova, Astra Coupe

1) T reg Polo - Just a car but felt like it had a personality with all its little 'quirks'. Sadly I sold her, being my first car I couldn't park the thing with its lack of power steering.
2) 57 plate Ibiza - Felt like a generic car, no personality and a bit plastic.
3) 56 plate Jimny - So much fun for a little car, out of all of the cars I have driven this is my favourite, spurred on by the Mitsi we had as a company car. So it doesn't have a Rockford Fosgate sound system or electric seats, this is the first car I've had where I've felt like I didn't need all those gadgets!

That's me!
Yep, the VX220 definitely needs TMS upgrades (or similar), they're nowhere near fast enough without. Still a great car though.
When we used to go to the meets we always got asked how it compared the Exige....
There was no comparison (even with the TMS Stage 2+ and Fast Road/Track Geo), the Exige wiped the floor with it. I don't know why folks would think otherwise... 150bhp Vs 190bhp (well, ours was mapped to 200bhp, but even so).
I could out drive the VX and was left wanting more power/better handling.... whereas, the many times when I really thought I'd pushed the Exige too far, and would be lucky to make it through the bends, it just laughed in my face!
Loving my bike engined kit, hugely impractical of course!! But the Jimny & Land Rover are my daily drives/farm slags, so it is just my fun car!

Mine was slightly modded. Backbox, manifold, induction and remap with a bot fast road geo. Handled brilliantly But just lacked that overtaking grunt. Still miss it all the same.
Kit car sounds like fun!
