Mini 1300 (again, no brakes)
Morris 1000 (ace!)
Vauxhall Velox (couldn't tell the front from the back except for colour of the lights)
Hillman Minx (nice, 20 year old example with 300 miles on clock. Some prat drove in to the side of it and killed it!)
Ford Escort van 1300Gt ( a laugh)
Vauxhall Viva (puke)
Vauxhall Chevette (Opal Kadet with a pointed front end)
Suzuki Gt185 (ok if revved)
Suzuki Gt200invader (MENTAL)
Suzuki Gt250L (production racer and road bike)
Yamaha 125xl (good fun)
Yamaha 250xl (ditto)
Honda 250 Super Dream (used to fall asleep when riding it)
Suzuki Gt550m (oil burner with no ground clearance, sparks a plenty!)
Suzuki Gs750db (Shortened an Escort with it at 122mph )
Ford Escort 1300l estate (like an hearse, in fact once owned by the Co-op Funeral Home!)
Kawasaki Zx10 (Turn the brain off, enter the M1 and flick the hyper space button)

Ford Fiesta 1.6 (xr2 replacement) (CR AP in capitols. Bought brand new, part ex'd after 5 months)
Fiat Punto 1.1sx (BRIGHT yellow, say no more)

Mercedes C180 Avantguarde with sports pack. Up for sale in, you guessed it, Cyprus.
BMW X3. In Cyp. Transfer box went 2 days before warranty ended, (4,000Euro to replace!) but would the German barstewards honour it, No!! Reason, Cyprus not in the EU. Was when I last looked! Since May 2004. Sower Krauts! Just 'cause we beat them three times!

Mcc Smart (sold just before becoming number 2 in the Gay Charts. Phew!!)(But BRILLIANT!)
Suzuki 650 (chopper style!) (Paper bag over helmet when out on that! Not for me I'm afraid. Soon sold it)( Given for free, washed and sold for £300! Isn't e bay wonderful )
Bedford Rascal (Brilliant. Loved it to bits. Could get it straight down the school corridor and out the far doors, easy. Had to make sure I was careful with
the clutch, didn't want to leave tyre marks on polished floors! )
Mazda mx5 (SOLD last year, ok when the sun's out, I want to sell it but wife loves it! Costs more to tax than the deli!!!!)
Delica Exceed (Sold, at least it can go on the 'Once Had' list. Dug the 'long jump' sand pit up trying to get out when trying the 4WD out for the first time! )
Suzuki Carry van. Brilliant little 1300cc drifter and opposite lock van with loads of doors. As good as my old Bedford Rascal.
Vauxhall Monaro 5.7 V8
Various Scoobs up 380bhp. (Still think they are not what they're bulled up to be)(Evo better)
Mercedes A200 turbo, chipped etc 234bhp. Own now. Eats tyres & Golf Gti's.
Suzuki Jimny with 2.5" lift, loads of extras my and a rock lobster box. Just fitted freewheel hubs instead of silly auto ones. Owned now.

Might have missed some out, had some right bangers and trash over the years, but one of my all time faves was/is the Smart car.
Mind you it had had it's speed restrictor removed, it was chipped, sports twin exhaust, dump valve and guage, body kit and loads of stuff in the interior done.
Used to embarrass Beemers on the A1 going up to Penrith at 110/115 true speed. (Clocked)

So in ending
British = crap
Foreign = ok

Fastest car, any hire car! LoL!!

It's all just fun and games at the end of the day.

Agree, any Hire/Courtesy car is the fastest and smokes tyres!!!:silly: :silly: :silly: :silly:

oh forgot - also had a moggy convertible for a year
bought it to do up - got replacement doors wings etc spent about £1500 on it and bits for it
that was without parts yet to buy replacing the interior and the hood

got all the brakes and lights working and took it for an mot - failed on everything it could posibly fail on apart from the brakes and lights

sold it for £500 to some one braver and better than me at mechanicing and welding - doh

only ever drove it twice - onec home when I bought it and once to the mot station

too many memories of my old traveller on crossplys that you could drift across roundabouts in the rain at about 20mph :woohoo:

At 21 years old i've only been driving for 4ish years

First car was a 51 plate mk5 Fiesta...paid £2200 for it in 2007. Mint condition, had been owned by an old guy, had about 28k miles on it. Loved it as my first car, but they have their rot spots, so spent most of my spare time cleaning it! Got fairly seriously stuck on a very icey road in wales, which ended with me and 3 randomers using sand to get any kind of grip... and then parked it and left it over night.

I needed a 4x4, and after my dad had owned two SJ's in the 80's... there was only one sensible choice! I wanted a 90... but insurance is just silly money.

Sold the Fiesta for 2k (cost me £200 in 2years!)
Bought the 04 Jimny in March 2010. Not been well looked after... a few small dents, rubber type scuffs... generally grubby, and uncleaned.

Its now as clean as i can get it, with the dents removed and the rubber scuffs polished out on the evening i arrived home with it. Everyone who knows me, thinks i'm obsessed with my Jimny... but i'm sure other people on here are too ;)

Right then, lets see what I can remember!

My first car was a Vauxhall Nova 1.2L which I thought was ace and lowered it 40mm and stuck a sports back box on. It shook much above 70mph but I loved it as we all love our first cars. Blew the head hasket on it twice mind and then had an annoying carb issue after the original Pierburg wore out and the new Weber never worked properly.

Fiat Cinquecento Sporting with Peco big bore exhaust, on which the flexi joint only lasted a year. Full of character but slowed down going up hills on the motorway too much. Gave it to the HP company as I bought a house with an ex and couldn't afford the finance any more.

Skoda Favorit 1.3 5 door. Got the mickey taken alot (funnily enough at 20 years old!). Had a carb like a bucket which made it go like stink. Rusted away and I gave it away to the ex's sister. She blew it up. I liked it though.

Ford Escort 1.4L Mk4 5 door - ok but dull.

Ford Escort 1.3 Mk4 Estate 2 door. ould not die however much I tried to kill it. Slow but reliable.

Citroen ZX 3 door TD Volcane with full leather interior. Nice but blew the head gasket (see a trend forming here) due to the thermostat sticking shut and got rid as wasn't worth the price of the new head it needed.

Vauxhall Nova GTE - brillian car, rusted badly, but kept it and stuck it in the garage for a few years after split with the bird I had the house with and moved back in my parents and got a job with twice the salary!

Yamaha Fazer 600 motor bike.

VW Vento - nice car, wish I hadn't sold that one but it had handraulic windows and I wanted leccie ones. Was slow but I liked it for some reason.

Sold Fazer and went down to Vespa PX 200 in the interests of staying alive. Thing is it was so unstable on 10" wheels compared to a Fazer I wonder which was the safest. Cheap as chips to run and insure though!

Bought our old SJ410. Had it for a good few years. went half with my Mrs and we got the engine reconditioned professionally (so we thought). Then took it to the Lakes and came back on an AA truck with ... guess what ... a blown haed gastket! I fixed it though and it did us proud for a few more years off roading and greenlaning.

Bought a gold Jimny thinking we could use that for green laning and use the SJ for the hardcore stuff. Only stuck standard sized AT's on it. Got stuck on silly small ruts on a lane - dug myself out with a scewdriver - hurt my hand doing so - got the hump, sold it.

Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 in really clean white with ST200 bodykit and wheels - fast as you like but each overtake cost a fiver and I did alot of overtaking!!!

Bought a base model shell Nova and re-built the old GTE into that. Took every nut and bolt apart and rebuilt everything before re-building it back up. Learnt loads along the way.

Sold Mondeo and finished Nova re-build - got bored with the harsh ride of the lowered suspension and sold the Nova.

Bought Ford Escort 1.6 Finesse 5 door - comfortable but dull car - fitted awesome speakers and head unit. Kept it for ages - gave it to the Mrs.

Bought the Jimny I have now from KAP with just a 3" lift and 215/80/15 Colway Muds - had discovered this site and thought I'd give the Jimny another go. Realised I was too hasty selling the old one and wished I had modded that and saved a small fortune alomng the way!

Sold SJ410 to fund cage and winch for the Jimny. Done the Lakes twice over in it and nearly just how I want it.

Vespa got written of with me on it but I didn't get written off thank god!

Nissan Micra K11 1.3 5 door bought to replace Vespa - not quite as cheap to run and insure but not too bad and keeps me warm, dry and most importantly - alive! I quite like it - 75bhp in a biscuit tin = fun - but people associate them with old folk - so are suprised to see one overtake them - alot!!!

I do like my Jimny though and have had it a fair few years now and unless I have kids or give up off roading will be keeping it!

1964 105E Anglia as my first car back in 1984, great but slow...

1983 Sierra 2.0 Ghia, bought on a whim, handled like a boat :(
1984 Sierra 2.8 XR4i absolutely mental car. Me and my mate had lots of hooligan fun (he had a 2.8i Special Capri), left 60ft rubber marks in Romford when we were being childish. I beat him off the line lol.
1989 Sierra Sapphire 2.0 GLSi needed a sensible car (as the wife to be told me :( )
1993 Mondeo 1800 as above (now married)
1997 Mondeo ST24 Saloon RSAP, heavily modified, 196BHP (wife had own car lol)
Then wife divorced me :) Sold the ST as I had a company car. Bought...
1978 Ford Escort RS in Signal Green. Woo hoo the dogs danglies.
Got married again and sold the RS :(
2000 Mondeo 1800 ok but dull
Then wife 2 bought a brand new Focus Sport so I sold the Mondeo and got the Jimny
