I've tryed to contact Tim Lambert, but without any reply (i've see on facebook that he had got an accident and he was in hospital)...

Does someone can help me?
My gearbox start to have some little problem but i can't stop the car for weeks... I need another gearbox and in some hours change it with another one...

What kind of problem are you having with the gear box?

Also, you can put ANY year R72 gear box in to your Jimny, I have a 2016 one in my 2008. It was significantly cheaper (incl. fitting) than getting it rebuilt.

I start to have some difficulty to engage 1st gear and reverse (in many case i have to release a little bit the clutch for engage gears), but more important, probably i start to have some problem with bearings... I start to heard some noises and i'm 99% sure that are bearings... In any case, it done his 220k km without any issues... So i can accept that situation... :) The problem is that in Italy it seems that noone have that type of gearbox... A lot of r7me, k9k, but not r72... And who have an r72, sell it as it wuould be made of gold at foolish price... For me is the first off-road vehicle, but since when i was a child i,ve worked on autocross cars and buggy, so is not a big problem to take one, open and rebuild it by myself. Unfortunately i can't stop the car for weeks, so for that i prefer to take one ready gearbox or one used, rebuild it and when i'm ready, stop the car for one saturday afternoon and change it...

the difficulty to engage could be an old clutch wire or a weak clutch pedal bracket or worn clutch also.

I just changed the bearings in my R72. Not an impossible job, but not for the complete novice either.
Fairly easy compared to other boxes if you have some experience like you say.
Not sure i would do the bearing job on a gearbox with high milage though, there might be more parts needed like the synchro rings and needle bearings too.
Most R72 fail sooner or later so the market is wiped clean of them all over.
If I were to buy even one more R72 I would not buy any box older than 2010-2012.
I found mine late autumn / early winter when the first snow came and the breakers got the first crashed cars in from suprising winter roads. checked the breakers web pages daily so i got it first.
