I seem to be logged out of the site every time I visit, where as I used to stay signed in all the time. Is this likely to be an issue at my end or yours Martin? It's only happened since the site update but happens on my phone and laptop (both running chrome).

I will check but have not noticed anything, have you changed cookie settings in your browser? It might be worth deleting any bigjimny cookies and getting new copies.
The internet has not been a nice place in the last few weeks. I have seen multiple attempts on this site and my specific hosting company has also been a major target over the last couple of days making access to bigjimny flaky at times. See status.linode.com/
The bigjimny server is protected by two firewalls, malware/antivirus scanning and user profiling. I have engaged the services of a security company in australia who specialise in this particular type of server. The bigjimny shop does not hold financial data as this is offloaded to PayPal with no data even briefly touching my server.

Hi Martin,
Was just denied access to the Forum by Centrora.
Shut down my Homehub, fired it all up again for a new IP address, and now it's fine.

Another major attack on London based Datacentres is currently under-way (31/12/15 - Midday).
Its taken the BBC offline and is seriously affecting BigJimny. This is beyond my control.

I will look into the login problems once the Internet sorts itself out. December has been a terrible month with a barrage of attack on the Internet in general.
You can see below that BigJimny was killed at 12 noon (hence a "Denial of Service" attack).

Well I know what it is - its the UTF-8 character definition, but quite where the change that has affected it is, I am not sure.
If you view the "page source" for any of the website pages it clearly sets UTF-8 in the header ok.

HI,
Its not specifically under attack, we have been playing with the settings and someone has got through
Its a fine balance between valid members getting "banned" messages and intruders getting in.
I felt that we might be automatically banning members too regularly so wound back some settings with the results you have seen.
We battle on
