09/11/07 - Interior Light

If you own a Jimny and off-road it then you will have found that on winter afternoons in a muddy wood it is difficult to see any of your recovery kit that is thrown in the back. Whilst visiting the local caravan shop for a couple I number plate lights I found just the answer.....

....a 12v fluorescent tube. These small light units create a lot of light for a low wattage (700mW). I simply wired it into a switched 12 volt supply (I need to put proper switch panel in at some point in the future. The headlining is removed by pulling out plastic plugs along the top, just inside the door. I then bolted the light to the headlining and tucked the wiring in.
