Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

14/01/09 - Rocklobster conversion - Episode 2

I am gradually working through this conversion. As it modifies a transfer box from an old SJ most of the work at present is with the realm of the SJ rather than the Jimny. The main Jimny work will come when I fit the Transfer Box.

When I had an SJ I wrote a guide to doing the work - which is HERE. I am using this guide but I have found a couple of areas that need updating so look out for a revised edition at some point which wil include the details for fitting it to a Jimny......

09/01/09 - Rocklobster conversion - Episode 1

Having fought with the flanges and battled with the speedo drive I finally split open my transfer boxes ready for a Rocklobster conversion.

This is what I found....

31/12/08 - Christmas Bling

My Jimny really seems to show every scratch and mark. Whilst my old SJ managed to look smart no matter what I dragged it through but the Jimny paint seems to be easily damaged. Therefore my solution is to cover it up. I bought a set of Suzuki decals from http://www.firststopdecals.co.uk/ designed for a Suzuki Swift. This means they do not fit in quite the way they should but I think they look nice anyway.

First - here is a picture of how they should look.......

16/12/08 - My Jimny - Update

So with everyone else sending in pictures of the modifications they are doing the question is...what am I doing with mine!

Being a committee member of TV4x4 we have been out surveying 4x4 sites for next years calendar. We recently visited Hogmoor which is a fantastic site, so the club will be booking it for a trial next year. The visit to Hogmoor showed that the standard Transfer Box (if you remember I am back on a standard box after the chain stretched in my Low Ratio Gearset Jimny Transfer Box) is not up to the job so I am starting to build up an SJ410 RockLobster ready to fit. I am producing the write up for this and hopefully this will appear in the new year.....
