Yeah. I've had a look into them. I'm not a fan of the idea of .. Using sticky tape to mouth them. I would consider them as a last resort. And expensive one.

There's bound to be a reason why I've not seen this product in pictures on 'bigjimny' before !

No, i would love to.. but i cant. I'm working.. (damn Argos have suckered me in to Christmas hours!)
Plus i wouldn't be able to get there. I live in Cambridgeshire.. and Tong is almost 3 hours away!
If you know of /can organise any events within a decent radius of Cambridge.. i would happily pop along with my camera to get some snaps for you! (it would also look good in my portfolio for uni! ;) )
My friends got a landrover.. so im sure he could take me.
Thanks for the consideration though ! :)

Just a quickie on thie thread, I have those roof lights on our jimny.
I polished the roof with Autoglym, then warmed it using a heat gun. The sticky tape is very good and strong, and I filled the gaps in the roof ridges with Black Silicone.
the whole thing is very good quality and, with some slight trimming, sits nicely between then roof rails.. Far enough back to stop any reflexion on the bonnet.

Having wasted £80 on spots from Halfrauds (which rusted within 12 months of them being fixed on the foor), £20 on relays, switches and suitable wiring, the £109 pricetag for the 4x spots, mounts loomb wasnt too bad.

Sweet ! Thanks. My dad seems quite enthused ! How did you wire them
in ?? What switch? And does it come with that setting- 2 lights /fourlights etc.
Thanks again !

They come with all the bits you need.
Light pod with lamps, wiring loomb from the lights to the relays.
They come with a "fob" like switch with 2 buttons (outer 2 and inner 2).
They have a pair of LED's on them too so you can see what light is on.

All you need to do is connect the switch to a switched live circuit, and then connect the relays to the battery.

One mistake I made and it really confused me was I tried to connect the switch circuit to a different 12 volt source and as the earths were not connected, the lights wouldnt work !!. Doh !!!!...

Corrected the mistake and they are great.

The "leaps of faith" were to drill a 10mm Hole in the roof to pass the wires through. and to have to cut 1" of either side so the pod sat in between the roof bars.
