I have tried finding info on the web and have learnt how to remove it (should I want to), how to replace it - but not how to work out what all the buttons do!
I will have a closer look at it and see if there's any hint on the manufacturer's name/details.
Thanks again

I agree it's good to know what all the functions etc are.
I doubt i'll be able to help as mine had a aftermarket head unit but i'll try as there all the same really especially when it comes to factory units.

do you mean the VVT ?I have recently bought a 2005 Jimny JJV
is the 4WD select a push button on the centre console
i.e. is the radio/cd unit a single or double DIN type,
i.e. is it normal height about 2.5 inches, or double height 5 inches

The radio/cd unit is about 5" high with the CD disc input at the very top, above the display, which is an orangey/red colour when lit. It has 6 pre-set buttons at the bottom.
Thanks

The radio doesn't look complicated, but the station I tune to fades in and out and I'm sure there must be a way of telling it to auto-find the strongest signal of the band.
That and a couple of mystery buttons!

have you pressed the mystery buttons to see what happens?they may not apply for your model of stereo, ive had that before where some buttons just dont do anything but they do on a higher spec stereo.
