It's not been off road or even laning for over a year now, so with such few road miles between MOT' s there's no reason for it to fail with all the maintenance done and new parts.
I took it for a good thrash first to get the cat nice and hot for the emmisions!

He probably is a bit stricter though, so I was a little anxious. Especially about the emmisions! I've got the printout of those though and no need to have worried. You never know with Cats when they've been dunked in cold water from red hot in the past etc!

Despite the whining Rocklobster and Humming Malatesta Kaiman tyres I'm quite enjoying it.
We've taken it down some local byways with our 2 year old who refers to laning as driving through the trees!
Using a heavily modified Jimny with tyres that hum to tell people of your presence long before you arrive seems to get you many looks from young boys who keep looking back.
Our boy calls it "Daddy's Tractor" and another little boy passing the house as I got it out of the garage yesterday said to his Mum "it's a tractor". So my little boy is not alone in referring to it as a tractor!

I realise yours is more set up for off road but I used to use (and still do) all my 4x4s daily. I like to have a "beater" for daily use and an old fourbie is ideal. Since I moved to the coast I think it is even more useful to keep the quality car in the background. Mind you I don't do a lot of miles normally so running around in a modified 4x4 is ideal.kirkynut wrote: I've had to press my Jimny into daily use this week Kirkynut

Well we have to use a forward facing cheapo which is fixed in place with the seatbelt. Not ideal but there's no Isofix and there's not really room for a rear facing seat. His knees haven't reached the edge of the seat yet either, so his legs are straight and his feet stop the passenger front seat going back any further. So it's not too comfortable for anyone with any height in the front passenger seat.
He has to go in the rear passenger side because I can see him when driving on my own then and only the passenger seat tilts.
When his knees reach the end of the seat to be able to bend it will be easier.
I've seen cheapo ones in Tesco by Graco I think for about £30. Not as good as our all singing and dancing top of the range one for £250 In her Beemer but what else can you do?
John, it is nice not caring about people opening doors on your car etc but mine is perhaps something I tolerate noise wise!
