you dont need to buy new transfer box's to get them made into a lobster box just get used ones it cost me £50 for both the 410 & 413 box & then £400 to get them made into a lobster box & the fitting kit only other thing i had to get was the prop shafts so all in it was about £500
or you could just buy everything already done inc the fitting kit & the lobster box from o.r.a or d&g tuning or they might even be more supplyers around
I would love that and will have another look arround as the (Product name removed at the request of the manufacturer) are arround 700 euros plus fitting and will be limited to that from that point on .... will check ora now

The right way is to drill and pin them then to weld them together, the welding needs
to be done right and the gear needs to be 100% square on the shaft.
The welding also needs to be high quality and not just any idiot with a Mig/Tig!!
Other than that you could build your own, new seals and bearings are not too expensive.
I have seen a few different kits around and some look a bit shoddy to me, if the mounting
kit and speedo converter look crap then just think of the gears inside doing all the
work!!!
I'm not going to publicaly recommend or slag off anyones boxs as the forums speak
for themselves....

I shopped around for ages looking at where to buy my lobster from, speaking to
people in the real world and finding out which were reliable and which were a bit
er well naff really!!
I wont be naming the ones i've heard bad things about, so after speaking to people
who compete and are using them in the harshest terrain 1 name just kept on cropping up,
i then spent a little more time trawling though forums looking up who had ben having
problems with gears coming apart, i wasnt too fussed about oil seals and bearings
as i count those as consumables it was mainly the gears as thats the crucial part!!
Luckily i went to Kirton a managed to get a look at a good kit, i then spoke to Rockwatt
and ordered my kit from him, for less money i recieved a realy good peice of kit
which came with a rockbucket to protect the box from impact, my own choice of drive
flanges, a nice pneumatic fitting and hose for the breather and the speedo drive
is a thing of beauty!!
I worked for an engineering company for around 10 years so i know what im looking
for in these kits and this one just looked the best both inside and out!!!!
this comes highly recommended by me and many others if you look around, i don't
think it was built in a shed though????
Also to add this has now done 8000 miles but ive changed the oil 3 times as i like to
keep it clean!!!

Thanks a lot for the reply .... the biggest problem I am facing is finding any gear in Ireland. There is absolutely nothing here.... No 410 or 413 .... and from the search I did no one here would do that kind of work... :blink:
So I need to source the 2 transfer cases in other countries, then post them to Ireland and then again to UK and back, big logistic operation.
So my options are down to (Product Name Deleted at the request of the Manufacturer) or one fully build "Plug and play".
Any help will be appreciated in finding a solution ....

State you need to replace the drive chain in the box at the cost of around £200
From suzuki!!
I've heard too many horror stories of chains stretching and the like... It is a good
Peice of kit let down by suzuki's crap design!!!!

You might not get back the exact same box as the ones you sent him but it doesn't matter as he checks all the casings and replaces all bearings needed and seals.
I've been in his workshop in his garden and it would make companies jealous.
You just have to wonder for someone who does not advertise his services, why is it that so many people use him and recommend him? Word and mouth is a good advertisement.
I think that some of the stories of old about gears being pulled apart in boxes by another mainstream company supplier might be a thing if the past now. People learn and improve. I know who Jamie speaks of but will not make negative reference and believe their work to be good now.
