TC & SC question was created by SlippinJimny
Hi!
I’ve found a thread about the newer Jimny not allowing you to full disable TC/SC when in RWD mode.
It turns back on when you reach a certain wheel speed.
In that thread they didn’t say if that goes for the older Jimnys (2009 for example) as well, and so I’d like to ask here if it does or not.
Thank you!

I am fairly sure that a 2009 Jimny doesn’t have traction or stability control.

I believe that TC only became a thing after the 2013 face lift. Certainly my old 2011 didn't have it but my 16 and 18 both do. It works as stability control in high range by cutting power to reduce relative wheel spin and in low range it works to actively use the abs to force drive across the axle to the none spinning wheel. You can turn it off in either mode but it turns itself on again in high range above 30mph.

Edit: just googled it and the early ones really didn’t have SC/TC
I feel stupid now, but I never thought that they wouldn’t have any so I googled “how to turn off tc/sc?” instead of “does the early Jimny have tc/sc?”
Thank you for the info! Made my day!
