My rear door always rattles with the slightest vibration

My rear door (non-convertible Jimny) rattles a lot, and squeaks in a metallic way, like if two pieces of metal were sliding on each other.
Any way to make that stop? The seals are pretty decent, and the other doors rattle as well, but those seals are old and stiff so I'll change them and see.

It could potentially need new hinges. Is there any vertical movement in the door when it's open?

There is an adjustable door stop (rubber) on the doors, or you might have to adjust the catch position on the rear door, I have forgotten which. My Gen 3 rear door rattled until I adjusted the door stop.

The bonnet also rattled until I adjusted the rubber stops on that, I think they twist to adjust.

There could be something loose inside the door, the inner cover comes off fairly easily (press clips), so you could check, perhaps the rear screen wiper has come loose?

You might also want to check the spare wheel and spare wheel carrier in case that has come loose.

My rear door rattle turned out to be the rear silencer resting on the towbar metal work. It's surprising how sound travels, spent weeks investigating the rear door rattle that never was. So worth a check IF you have a tow bar.

I do have a tow bar but my muffler is custom so it doesn't hit, also I adjusted the front door stops and they're good now, but I still don't understand how to adjust the rear door catch position

I don’t have a Gen3 now so can’t look, but see this thread

www.suzuki-forums.com/threads/adjust-rattling-back-door.275290/

The post by Fordem (also on here) is the most relevant, he shows adjusting the circular rubber on the door.
