I’m just about ready to swap to 1.6 engine, how late a model year can I go so it all remains plug and play? I’ve noticed some later engines have 4 ignition coils instead of 2, I know that swapping the original rocker cover will resolve this, is there anything else to watch for, crank or cam sensors, fly by wire throttle?

Any advice appreciated.

Did you go for a pre-2010 or a post 2010 in the end?

Possible to swap the m13 trigger wheel over like on the G13BB swaps?
And rocker cover must be swapped from the m13 anyways to get the dip stick down the correct place.
Mine is a 2009 Liana. Works brilliantly.

you cant swap this engine which has four ignition dot wast your time
1- cam trigger is different
2- crank triggers is different
3- EGR cancellation

if you swap you need to change cam trigger, crank trigger at least the car idling will not be right; I swap this engine for one of my customers

Hello
I just put one 2012 swift sport (M16A) on my VVT Jimny M13A and only at the end I saw this problem. Since the decision was taken, right now I have to swap the cam and crank trigger wheels. For the crank is only a lot of work but for the cam trigger I kindly ask you to tell me how do you proceed in order to have the exact position of the trigger wheel. I didn't saw on the camshaft a guide to put on exact position the trigger wheel. Another good help will be the procedure to install it - did you simply press it or you used different temperatures to install the trigger on the camshaft??? Thank you in advance for any helpful info.

I did the same swap.
Jimny 2009 with M13 i upgrade with M16 from swift sport.
I have detonations after 5000rpm. We use stock intake manifold and ECU just reflash with M16 map.
Now i will try to plug in the original m16 wiring and a stock ECU from M16.
An other solution is a standalone ECU but you need manifold and throttle body from M16.
