Uh Ohhhh!

Hey guys.....

after fitting a 2" spring spacers and 32mm wheels spacers i went about getting new wheels........i bought a set and was told that they would fit my jimny even without the lift........Wrong! the back fit okay with a little room for negotiation but the fronts seem to be way to huge,catching on the front and the back of the arch.

The wheels are 235/75/15 with off road tyres...without having to cut the hell out of stuff is there an alternative way to get these on? iv'e heard of people running these size wheels and tyres with no issues,thanks in advance

I run same set up as you even have a 2 inch body lift but still had to cut front arches to suit .
Also trimmed back ones slightly but i made the inner arches to fit still to save mud coming into door shuts

Hi sam would a 3" body lift do the trick? to be honest i'll probably end up selling them and going for a smaller tyre...what would you recommend with the current lift n spacers? i just want to beef the truck up a bit

Dave Jones has these size tyres on with no rubbing and no cutting, probably got equal to a 3.5" spring lift as his is weighed down with lots of steel bits! I think the secret to getting them to fit is putting them on narrow wheels, Dave has them on standard vitara wheels which have a bit less offset than Jimny wheels. Yup, as Gary says, I've got 235/75/15 Malatesta Kobra remoulds (edit: same as your judging by the photies) on Vitara rims with 30mm wheel spacers and a 4" spring lift, no body lift, no rubbing

Hmmm, thinking about it though, as part of my lift I have ORA radius arms... they presumably position the axles / wheels better in the arches too?...

Hi Dave that's a cracking looking jimny mate,yes i have the same tyres...i see you've modded your bumpers...is tha for off road purposes only?

Also how did you achieve the 4" lift? iv'e yet to find a 4" kit only 2"/3" plus will i need correction bushed so on?

Those are aftermarket rims, you should check the backspacing/offset and width, it may be stamped on it.

Non-remould 235/75 R15s may fit, such as BFGoodrich, Kumho or Generals. Remoulds tend to be an inch or so taller. They are also horrible on the road!

A safer bet is going for some 215/75 R15 or 195/80 R15.

if i can sell these i was looking at a 205/70/15 off road tyre like below

would a 215/75/15 be a better fit or 195/80/15?

I use THIS SITE to compare tyre sizes.

205/70 is the standard tyre size. 215/75 or 195/80 offer a bit more ground clearance and will fit without trimming.

If you intend to use this Jimny as your daily driver I would avoid re-moulds! Yes they are cheap, but you could get a decent set of all-terrains for not much more which will still look good, handle a lot better on the road, be much quieter and last a lot longer!

Have you tried fitting the wheels and tyres with out the wheel space's first.
