I posted on Difflock too and had a few replies, but I thought I would post here too.
After crossing a number of fairly deep ( 4 - 5 foot deep ) rivers and puddles, i think a snorkel is in order. so far, we have nor stalled out or even dampened the airfilter so we are going to quit while we are ahead and get a snorkel fitted.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier ? or is anyone else thinking of getting one we could get a bulk order ?

I could buy some to sell through the BigJimny shop, I would suspect the dollar rate and import tax would do some damage to the price, should I enquire?

I was looking for a snorkel for mine too, but I have decided to go down the cheaper route of home made. We do a lot of laning and stuff gets ripped off, smashed, dented etc in some of the gnarly lanes we like to do. A few other off roaders I know have used plastic drain pipe and elbows with bonded joins and made a good job of them so they don't look cheap and nasty and fit tight to the body. If it gets broken then its only a few quid for a new bit of pipe from B&Q as opposed to over a hundred quid for a propper snorkel.

The DIY route was an option, but I want one that looks good and is functional. Yes, I know the plastic drainpipe is just as effective but... well ..... no !

I have just had it confirmed in an email that I can supply Jimny snorkels - I will talk further with the company this week to confirm a price and will let you know so you can tell me if it is worth doing

Thats the one I am looking into. The cheapest AirTek I have found is £199 + VAT + P+P which is the target I have to match or beat (otherwise its worth you going elsewhere - although I understand delivery time is a factor - if its cheap but you have to wait 6 weeks whilst it wends its way on a boat from Australia than thats no good either)

Should know what can be done later this week

It looks to be that I could sell them on at £199 INC VAT (ie. you get a 15% discount on the £199 EX. VAT price). On top of this would be postage which I am told is roughly £12 (or free if you collect from Reading!)

Any confirmed takers? (there is a further discount break point at 9 items but I don't think we will hit this - I am taking a financial risk myself on meeting a lower break point)

Just sorting out how any warranty would work with the distributor

As long as it doesnt look like a piece of drainpipe, sign us up for one.

Can you get a picture of the proposed item ?

I have confirmed the price at £199 + postage (£12.50)

For more details of the fitting to a Jimny (and pictures) see here

For more details on this specific snorkle range see here

The distributor will get the first pair to me on Thursday with the rest being shipped from Australia so the first couple of orders will be delivered (or available to collect) after Thursday. I will properly set up and open the BigJimny shop this evening to take orders via Paypal.

I hope this gives something to the Jimny community as its a bit of a finance gamble for me!

DO NOT ORDER UNTIL I POST A "YOU CAN ORDER NOW" MESSAGE AS YOU MAY JUST CATCH THE WEBSITE AS IT IS BEING CONFIGURED!!!
