I've done this before and as a temporary but tedious alternative i filled it via the breather. It took longer obviously but i just hung the bottle upside town with a pipe going into the breather and left it. Did the recommended oil amount. Can't remember exactly how much it is. But it's a way around it until you can get that bung out :)

Nope, definitely can't fill through the gear stick, it's a remote linkage.

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

@shima
What a life saver, on post 2005 Jimmy's the breather is easily accessible from the bay and with a massive suction syring an length of pipe managed to refill the box easily.
Wish I saw this earlier, struggled for 2 hours trying to remove a damd rounded filler plug...
Thanks.

No 3/8th ratchet, what's weird is its come undone before for a level check, this time it was warm after a run so I'm guessing it got tighter when hot? Maybey the plug expanded more than the metal around it? Who knows...

Yes could have done it’s worth getting a proper set of drain plug keys they fit tighter think it’s a 10mm I tried to undo drain plug on axles with ratchet but would not shift soon as I put a 10mm plug key on it undid straight away
