I found certain cb's have DIN mountings.... I had planned to rip out the clock ( which doesnt work ) and change tray and stick one in there.
Just a thought,

Mounted ours ontop of the dash for easy removal. The ariel and power leads just sit down near the heater vents, and we use the metal case of the CB to fix the GPS receiver to.
Only downside is at night, the illumination can be a little obtrusive

That's a decent rig and ideal for mounting in-dash as you have as it has a front facing speaker.
I have a Cobra 19, the small one so may mount there instead of the roof.
I have a small external speaker to mount nearer the drivers' seat as well in case I can't hear the rig when mounted in the dash.
I also have the same mounting behind the spare wheel on an home-made bracket.

Was looking at the spare wheel aerial mounts on ebay, bit pricey so would make me own but think i may just leave it as Mag on the roof but change aerial for short springer.

Got mine located in the passenger foot well, just in fount of the 4x4 selector. The airiral is on the back-door, using a mag mount which i fitted a 90 degree bracket to which the antennae is fitted to via the nut and cable. I works well with a good range and is not very visible to passer bys.
