Just a thought on the 7" rims, what is the offset?

If they are too offset outwards they will stress the bearings and any imbalance could be exaggerated by the offset

A question: is it unwise to mount 235’s on a 5,5” wide wheel?

Most tire manufacturers will recommend 6" as the minimum rim width for a 235 tire.

235/75/15 tires?

Out of curiosity, is there any particular reason that you put it on 235/75 R15
tyres? That's a pretty extreme up-sizing unless you're doing some pretty serious off-road work.

Not really. The standard gen4 gets a 195r15 which is notionally the same as a 215.75r15 which happens to be the smallest size you can get a km3 in and 235.75r15 is their next smallest and about the limit for the standard gearing.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

I am using BFG MT 235 75 15 on my original jimny alloys wich I think is 5.5 wide. Been doing that for many years so the tires are now almost worn out. Not having any problems at all with that except they where difficult to align when new as I said earlier.

Even wear on them now as they reach their (my) wear limit, and havent been off the bead with very low tyre pressure offroad like 0.4 bar.

Cant be recommended when it is outside the specs of the suppliers I guess, but works fine for my use. Must be approx 40000km so far.
would not hesitate to do the same sizes again.

One of the advantages of a wide tire on a narrow rim is it's less likely to "debead", one of the disadvantages is it's more likely to "crown" and wear the center of the tread which can probably be compensated for by reducing the inflation pressures, which increases the chances of it debeading. There are compromises & trade-offs which ever approach you choose.

My personal preference is to go with the tire manufacturers recommendations, and since rims with a lug pattern to suit the Jimny are hard to find in my corner of the world, I've chosen to stick with the factory alloys and a 215/75R15 tire for now, I'm a newcomer to the Jimny platform, my experience is with the Vitaras & Grand Vitaras, and as I become more familiar with the Jimny I may choose to go wider & taller.

I have contemplated swapping the 235/70R16s that I have on my GV over to the Jimny, just to see how they would fit, check for interference - maybe the next long weekend I have.

I agree with Lambert's comment on 235s & standard gearing, based on GV experience, where I'm hesitant is braking - again, based on GV experience, going from a 27 tire to a 29 has a huge impact on braking, the stock brakes on my JC74 are not that inspiring
