I have a lever action transfer box in stores which has definitely been apart and I suspect it might have some spicy gears in it though I need to confirm that manually. If it doesn't then it's not the end of the world to put some in it.

Has anyone successfully put a lever action into an automatic with the post 2005 PRND32L selector, I understand that the shell has the necessary aperture with just a plate over it but do the plastics still fit?

My reasoning is that the automatic is very overdriven especially in top so when I have a trailer on which is regularly it feels laboured or starts hunting so by putting lower gears in it it will put it nearer to the power band. It will also effectively turn 1st into a granny gear meaning I will only need low range when I'm actually off road and will therefore not have to be stopping at the top of my lane to change range just because I have a trailer on.
