2014 Suzuki Jimny JLX Superior White 1.3 Petrol.

I'm planning on taking my Jimny to the nearby shop to fix an issue of Vibrating when on D or R while stepping on the brake.

My diagnoses are:
*Worn out Engine Mounts (2 Trans mounts - front and 1 engine mount- rear
*Dirty Throttle Body

I've already replaced my sparkplugs but it did not resolve the issue so this is my next step.

What condition is the transmission oil in? How many miles has it done? Tend to think you may be onto something with the mounting points but check the oil for being burnt too.

Thanks for your reply. Can you elaborate the connection between transmission oil and the vibration on D/R? I'm really not an expert on cars and I'm learning as I go. Appreciate your inputs.

The transmission works by pumping oil at pressure through different galleries to activate the gears in simple terms. If the oil has degraded because of age or excess heat it will not perform correctly and this can manifest as odd vibration or general roughness of operation or slipping when it shouldn't.

Do you mean it vibrates when it is moving and the brake is applied, or that it vibrates when stationary and you are holding it on the brake?

If moving, check for warped brake discs or oval rear drums.

If stationary, it may be broken engine mounts/transfer mounts/rear axle mountings.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Just an update, after replacing the engine and transmission mounts as well as getting my throttle body cleaned, vibration no longer exists. The car is quieter too.

So i definitely addressed the issue.
